Cape York

In June 2018 we made the trip to Cape York. We left our van at Mount Carbine Caravan Park. You can store your van there for free if you stay there before and/or after your trip to the top. After our little adventure in the Aurukun forest, (see previous post https://wordpress.com/block-editor/post/workingholidaypress.home.blog/580 ) we made our way along the corrugated-tarred-corrugated-tarred road.

The Oodnadatta Cup

Finally the day arrived for us to head off on our Journey from Adelaide, up through the red centre of Australia. We took our time free camping along the way, as the roads got longer, the earth got redder, the vegetation got sparser and water got harder to find. We had our first overnight camp at an outback roadhouse, along with many other travellers and truck drivers. It was here I met a very friendly 11 year old boy.Read More »
